Contributor Profile: Sabrina Brennan
Sabrina Brennan was born in New Orleans and grew up on the Gulf Coast. In 1993 she relocated to Northern California after receiving a BFA in Photography from the Atlanta College of Art. Since then, she has developed a strong affinity for the San Mateo County coast, where she lives in Moss Beach with her wife, Aimee Luthringer, to whom she was married in June 2007.
In 1998 Sabrina successfully founded Digital Fusion Media, Inc., a small company that specializes in architectural signage, event graphics, and museum exhibition graphics. DFM partners with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the de Young Museum, Gensler, Oracle Team USA and the America’s Cup, among others.
Following Deepwater Horizon in 2010, Sabrina went to photograph the oil spill in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Inspired and moved by the people who make their living fishing in the Gulf, Sabrina attended the first National Oil Spill Commission hearing in New Orleans, broadcast on C-SPAN. In the hearing, Sabrina served as an advocate for the health and safety of workers hired by BP to clean up after the disaster. Here in California, Sabrina continues her work as a marine advocate; she is the founder of the Coastside Bicycle Coalition and AREA29, a coastal watershed advocacy group, and is also running for Pillar Point Harbor Commissioner.
